Orienteering 2024

Year 4 Young Leaders working with KS1

Following on from our Young Leaders training delivered by cumbria school sport partnership. The Year Four class create active lunchtimes for the younger children. The Young Leaders gain confidence and leadership skills and the younger children stay active and experience a large variety of sports and games. We run active lunch times on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to help facilitate our 30/30 activity offer. 

Girls Rugby at Titans Rugby Club

We have ran three clubs so far this year. We are proud to offer the clubs free of charge to have the greatest impact and support the families of our school and community.

 

So far this year we have ran the following clubs: Dodgeball, Cricket, and Dance and Fitness.

 

In addition to our after school clubs. We are running healthy lunchtime clubs with our Year 4 young leaders delivering a range of games activities to KS1. This has proved a great success.

Intra School Rounders

Intra School Rounders 

We had an intra-school (house colours) competition on Thursday 13th July. The teams were made up from pupils from year 3-6. Well done to all the pupils. We had some great rounders skills on display with fantastic team work across all year groups.

Harris Park Bowling

Bowling Champions! Well done to all the children who represented the school at Harris Park. The bowling competition has been reinstated this year and will become an annual event.

 

Sports Day June 15th 2023

A fantastic day for sport with all children participating in our KS2 Sports Day. Congratulations to the Blue Team on their winning team performance.

Sports Day

Orienteering prologue session at Fairfield. We kick of the Orienteering League by hosting the first event within our school grounds to help support and raise the profile of orienteering, with as many participants as possible.

Rugby Taster Sessions at Cockermouth Titans

The children have enjoyed two rugby taster sessions at our neighboring rugby club. The session have been very successful with children giving rugby a go and starting up. This is a growing partnership and a strong club link.
Well done to all the children involved and a big thankyou to Jeff Clare for leading the sessions.

Fantastic achievement at our Hockey Festival in which our Year 4s finished second after a tightly fought final between All Saints' and Broughton, Where only one goal separated the two teams. The teamwork throughout was outstanding. Well done All Saints'.

Hockey Festival

The whole of Year 4 participated in their hockey coaching day at Cockermouth School in preparation for the hockey competition on the 8th December.

Cross Country Competition. All Years 3 and 4 participated in the Cross Country event with a upper Key Stage 2 team consisting of 6 girls and 6 boys. All the Children demonstrated great perseverance in difficult conditions. Well done!

Year 3 and 4 Dodgeball Club (22 participants). Year 3 and 4 loved the new dodgeball club as we extend our sporting offer, providing more opportunities to become more active.

Harry Potter inspired Quidditch. The whole school had quidditch workshops from KS1-KS2 including our Facility. All the children had smiles on their faces. An fantastic experience for everyone involved.
