Year 5

Free additional PE lessons at home! 5pm from Thursday 12th November -18th December every Monday-Friday.

This is just to inform you that the Youth Sports Trust (YST) will launch a free “After School Sport Club” this week following the ban on children’s sport outside school in the second lockdown. Similar to Joe Wicks “PE With Joe” during the first lockdown, the 30min club will take place 5.00pm each weekday and led by a member of the YST athlete mentor network, starting on Thursday with Jenna Downing, the world no.1 inline skater and 10 time British champion.

The After School Club will run for 5 weeks until December 18 and children can take part live by visiting the YST YouTube channel, you-tube.com/user/YouthSportTrust.

Please feel free to take part as much as possible.

Warm regards,
Mr Charters

Last week the children of Year 5 were challenged with creating their own zip wire which one of their toys could use.  The following videos show some of their successes.

To all Year 5 children

Just a quick reminder that the Home Learning packs that I gave out last week are to keep you going until the Easter break.  After the holidays have finished, I will set daily work for you to keep your brains ticking over before you come back to school (whenever that may be).

Be safe guys yes

Joe Wicks Move Videos

The Body Coach, Joe Wicks, has teamed up with BBC Children in Need as their Schools Ambassador and they have created some excellent Move videos. These can be used in the classroom or at home. Great to use as they are simple and quick to pick up and can be used any time you and your children want to get moving and get energised!

The school had a visit from Mr Halliday’s brother, Andrew, who was one of the referee’s assistants at the recent FA Cup Final matches.
